:: SCRIPT REGISTRATION ::
Sending your script or treatment to a literary agency? Pitching your
idea to a producer? Before you do anything, it’s imperative that
you get your unique (and genius) idea legally copyrighted. Posting it
to yourself doesn’t stand up in law any more.
Fluid Eye Productions offers a safe, secure and trusted means of establishing
ownership rights over your work. Our script registration service allows
screenwriters to establish a date of registration, effectively copyrighting
their work and so providing defence against any future ownership challenges.
Script Registration can be applied to a treatment, a short or any draft
of your feature screenplay.
The Fluid Eye Productions Script Registration Service holds scripts
in sealed envelopes for an initial period of 2 years in order to provide
proof of receipt on a certain date in the event that ownership needs
to be established.
There are certain restrictions on this service and strict procedures
have to be followed on application to ensure legal security. Please
read the terms
and conditions carefully before you decide to use this service.
:: Here’s How It Works ::
- Seal your script in a strong, previously un-used envelope.
- Print in block capitals, using black ink, over the seal: “Registration
envelope sealed by …” with your name and address written
clearly and in full
- Place this sealed envelope (which will remain sealed) in a second
envelope together with a completed submission form and payment.
:: What Happens Next ::
- Upon receipt, the envelope containing the manuscript will be given
a Fluid Eye Productions Script Registration number and securely filed.
- The writer/s will be sent a certificate stating the date the envelope
was received, the registration number of that work, a statement of
the terms on which the script is registered, and a VAT receipt for
the registration fee.
