Why 40mm ?

Yes, it is an unusual scale, but this was the scale in which Josef Tonn was able to create the most memorable dioramas even if he was confined to using standard unconverted Hausser/Elastolin figures. So this has been an opportunity to experiment with some 'swoppet' features to create variety and unlimited conversion possibilities. I hope that in this scale you will able to role-play, wargame, create imaginative dioramas or just collect individual pieces at what I hope will be affordable prices.

In 1525 the German peasants rose up in an unsuccessful attempt to overthrow the feudal system in Southern Germany and what is now parts of Austria. Aided by Landsknechts, Swiss mercenaries and urban day workers and miners, they were severely defeated by the armies of the Swabian League and the Dukes of Saxony. This is a period in history which has not been illustrated in figure terms. For more details go to the books page.

The first series consists of six figures ransacking a monastery. The set is available as individual figures.
