Squeeze Keys PIano Accordion Workshops

Last season saw a change of venue to Church House, South Tawton, nr Okehampton. They were very well attended and Jason Rice certainly kept all levels of musician busy!

This 2011 ~ 2012 season we will once again be running workshops at Church House and we are hoping to start in September, thereby adding two extra workshops to the season, making 16 workshops in all.

As in previous years, we endeavour to run our workshops in as many regions of the county as possible, to ensure no-one has to travel far to attend a workshop. If an area has sufficient numbers of musicians to make a workshop viable, we would be keen to set one up. So though currently we have decided to run this year's Squeeze Keys workshops in one central location, South Tawton, we shall be reviewing the situation regularly and, with a bit of luck (and a lot of accordionists!) we might once more be able to work in the regions.

Pricing 2011 ~ 2012

Group sessions     16 x 1 hour monthly workshops from Sept to May at £15 per session is £240 in advance, (can be paid in 2 x 8 session installments)

The Workshops
(This a broad outline, the demographic of the group will naturally dictate, so times and number of workshops per evening may vary accordingly)

These workshops are open to all of 12 years old upwards, the only requirement being you will need to have access to a Piano Accordion for the workshops and for practising, but if you haven't got access to a piano accordion, we have a few good instruments available for hire.

1st Squeeze Workshops - Twice a month from Sept - May (except Dec and May)
These are for the absolute beginner, where we'll be looking at how best to get into good habits from the outset. As time progresses, we'll gradually learn new tunes, each of which will bring in a new technique. The ability to read music is not necessary.  From 12 years old and upwards.

2nd Squeeze Workshops - Twice a month from Oct - May (except Dec and May)  
These are for folks who can already play a bit, ie play tunes using simple bass end accompaniment. New techniques and style developed with new tunes and, as before, ability to read music not necessary. From 12 years old and upwards.

3rd Squeeze Workshops  Twice a month from Oct - May (except Dec and May)  
These are for folks who can already play with confidence and strong bass accompaniment.This is where the tricky stuff is at. Again new techniques and style developed with new tunes and, as before, ability to read music not necessary. From 12 years old and upwards.
