General Information & Pricing

Pricing

To transfer from 1 or 2 tapes to DVD up to the maximum capacity of the disc, costs £60.00. Additional copies of the same DVD ordered at the same time, cost £25.00 each. The original tape(s) must be in either VHS or Mini DV format. Price includes creating menus for linking to the chapters on the DVD.

If your tapes are in another format, or you want a single DVD created from more than 2 tapes, please contact me for confirmation of price.

Creating a single DVD from a large number of tapes amounts to video editing and will be charged accordingly on a per hour basis.

If you have any enquiries with regards to pricing, please contact me. I aim to provide a service that is very competitive in price.

Postage and Packing is £5.00 per conversion.

Quality

The quality if your original video is preserved. Obviously, the better the original, the better the quality on the DVD. If the conversion is from Mini DV tape, the quality will be superb.

Capacity of the DVD

The capacity of a DVD in hours and minutes is difficult to estimate. This is because video is compressed at different rates depending on content. It is only really possible to know how much will fit, after conversion. The maximum amount will be approximately 2 hours.

DVD Chapters

Chapters are links in the film/video that enable you to jump to specific parts, without having to fast-forward or rewind. This is one of the benefits of having your videos converted to DVD. If you do not specify where you want chapters with your order, they will be inserted at approximately 5 minute intervals throughout the DVD. If you want to specify your own chapters, consider spacing them no more than 10 minutes apart. For more information about specifying chapters, click here.

DVD Menus

At least one menu will be created with links to the start and chapters on the DVD. Depending on the length of video, more than one menu may be created. Links on the menu will show a 'thumbnail' (small picture) of where the link will jump to.

Playability

DVDs created should play on most players. Please realise that just because it plays on one DVD player, does not confirm it will play on another model. Before ordering your DVD, please ask us to confirm that your player is suitable by using our request form.
