DynoPower
specialises in manufacture of precision vehicle chassis dynamometer systems, and
we will supply our software and electronics to anyone wishing to build or
upgrade their own dyno system. Developed primarily for the motorcycle tuning
industry, we can now provide both motorcycle, and also car and kart dynamometer
systems.
The image shown is of our own mobile development & demonstration dyno unit, that is built into a trailer. As well as the mobile dyno shown opposite, we manufacture static workshop dynamometer systems for more serious development work. We also sell the software and electronics separately as a package, together with any help needed, to anyone that wishes to build for themselves a state of the art modern dynamometer system. This in fact now forms the basis of our business. It also allows you to save money while building exactly what you need.
A solid steel drum made to our specifications from our drawing, which is of a known rotational inertia, is used. This allows our DynoPower (c) software to calculate the power, using pure maths, at any given road (drum) speed. And by hooking up to the motors ignition system as well to monitor the real time rpm, we can produce accurate power & torque curves from any vehicle. These are then corrected to SAE J-1349 / DIN 70020 / ISO 1585 or EEC 80.1269 standards and then stored on the computer for future use. Because all of this data is accurately calculated, no initial calibration, or re-calibration is ever required, and the figures that are produced can only ever be absolutely correct. This means that any tests conducted on different DynoPower dynamometers in different parts of the world or country can be compared directly to each other no matter who built it or where it is located.
In addition the run data can be stored on a floppy disk for
backup, and/or given to the customer for him to keep. It can be added to any Dynopower dynamometer computer system at any facility at a later date if needed.
