Dynamometer Interface board / Drum & Rpm Timing Computer
This small purpose designed and built board is the interface between the dyno (sensor & vehicle ignition system) and your computer system. It is built for our company by an outside contractor to our specs. This component is essential and the dynamometer can not ever work properly without it!
It does a lot of work. It measures how long each and every 360degree drum rotation takes and along with the actual engine rpm data sends this information to the communication port on your computer using a handshake type protocol so that non of the data can be dropped. It has its own processor and memory on board and its own program stored on an EPROM or PROM chip. In addition it contains conditioning circuitry to allow connection to any normal 12v car or bike low tension coil wire or ignitor box / rev counter drive wire etc. to monitor the motors rpm.
Includes a 12v dc stabilised plug in power supply ( Mains - 240v 50/60hz ) needed to power the board and the sensor.
This board has to work in extremely difficult circumstances (electrical noise etc.) and is made up for us in small batches and so is not cheap!
