Now Rebuilt after Stripdown!

New cap-headed bolts (stainless allen headed bolts) everywhere, injector pressures all set to 20 psi, all parts cleaned, repainted, and reassembled with care!

Whilst the 'Leaf Blower' starts the Solent engine quite easily, it is very hard to find a power outlet to plug it into, when you are at the airfield. So I an going to try starting it by spinning it over with an electric buggy motor, as shown here. This is not a standard 540 type, but a 'racing' type motor of the same physical size. This thing draws about 35 amps as it starts to spin the Solent, and this drops to around 20 Amps as the speed increases.When free running the max speed is 40,000+ on twelve volts, although the motor is actually meant for 7.2volts.The white part is machined from a bit of PTFE bar stock (plastic..) and the rubber bit in the end is a walking stick end! I'm not sure if this will do the trick because the important part is not so much actual rpm but airflow through the combustor. We will find out soon enough.
