This room, like the library, is categorised in order to make your search for information you can really use much easier. Our objective is to make this site as user friendly as possible, so these categories are restricted to the following (as the site develops so the category numbers may increase).
- 1. Information/resources
- This category is for people seeking information relating to a specific illness and its available orthodox and alternative treatments. Sites listed will often be sites with many links themselves.
- 2. It happened to me
- Real people describing real experiences. If you have just been diagnosed with a specific illness (or know someone who has) and want to read about someone who has already been through it, you will find many relevant sites here. Again some of the sites listed will often be sites with many links themselves.
- 3. Personal Development
- This category encompasses the vast field of sites dedicated to the creation of a more desirable personal reality. Sites featured here may include information that has been intuited, channelled or learnt through the teaching of others. We make no judgments as to the method of acquiring this information, all we know is that we like what these various sites are saying.
Our Recommended Links
Category 1 - Information/resources
- Cancer News on the Net
- Subject - Cancer. A U.S. resource directory for finding out information about types of cancer and the medical treatment involved. You will find answers to most treatment and illness related questions amongst the sites that are linked to from here. Straightforward and quite quick to use.

- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/M.E. Information
- Subject- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & M.E.. A good site for links to CFS/ME related sites. It is sensibly divided into countries. The British resources listed includes 'Action for M.E.' a new site which provides information about M.E. Individual experiences can also be accessed via their bulletin board. Overall, 'CFS/ME Information' is an excellent starting point for anyone seeking information about these conditions. Straightforward and fast.

Category 2 - It happened to me
- Cancer Patient Links
- Subject - Cancer. A U.S. site created by cancer patients and their families. Use it as a link to the particular type of cancer you are interested in and then learn about the experiences of people who have already been through it. Invaluable for those seeking help and hope at a time when they may be feeling that no-one knows how they feel. Real life experiences of almost every type of cancer can be found through this site including - breast, head and neck, leukemia, lymphoma, ovarian, skin and testicular. Excellent and straightforward to use.
- Kidscope
- Subject - Children of parents who have cancer. A U.S based site dedicated to helping children come to terms with cancer in a parent. We have not seen their video or read their book (both available free of charge) - but their site is unusual in offering guidance in an area that is so important. For anyone in this position it is probably worth pursuing their offer - they are a non-profit organisation.
- Your Page
- Subject - Multiple Sclerosis. Eileen Holland's own site dedicated to fellow Multiple Sclerosis sufferers. Her experience comes from the heart and contains her real truths. Includes her experiences with steroids, marijuana, bee venom therapy and massage.
- Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome

Category 3 - Personal development
- Abraham Knowledge Site
- Subject - Positive thinking, creating your own reality. Slowish to download but wonderful, positive site. Abraham is a group of 'non-physical' entities channelled through Esther Hicks. She and her husband have been doing this for many years, she acting as the channel her husband acting as the question master. Now they are on-line, you can read about their teachings, or even ask your own questions about life, the universe and everything. If you want to find out how to improve your attitude towards something in particular such as money, illness or relationships, try looking up the appropriate word in the Abraham search engine. You will find Abraham's teachings are well worth absorbing and utilising, once you get over the grammar and vocabulary that is often a result of channelled material. Abraham will help you create a better reality. Brilliant.
- 2.0.1.3.
- Subject - the bigger picture, reality creating. Very slow to download, but for anyone seeking an alternative view of 'reality', this site represents one. 2013 is channelled from another dimension and their self-description under FAQ's is worth a read. The look of the site is very futuristic and the answers to some of the questions tie in very much with many of our own ideas. According to 2013 they 'seek to communicate with others of like mind and to create a more pleasant future reality'. Channelled or not, the words are good.
- Louise Hay
- Subject - personal problem solving, affirmations, positive thinking. An 'agony column' type feature where you can contact one of the leading lights in the world in positive thinking. Louise Hay has been an inspiration through her book 'You Can Heal Your Life' to virtually every person we have worked with. This site gives you the opportunity to read Louise Hay's understanding of life through the problems posed by ordinary people. This is a good example of how to bring affirmations into your life. There is also a small but powerful inspiration room which is regularly changed (it contains two or three quotes from Louise Hay). Criticisms would be that it is slow to download and we would have liked to have seen a bit more of Louise Hay's writings freely distributed on the site.

Newsgroups
Newsgroups can be extremely useful. They can also, however, be truly frustrating to use and get to grips with. One of the main problems is that which newsgroups you have access to depends on which newsgroups your Internet Service Provider supports. In all, there are about 50,000 newsgroups, but most ISP support only about half this number. Another frustration is caused by the fact that not all ISPs download newsgroup content frequently enough, and this can result in messages that never show up despite other messages referring to them.
One solution, if you have trouble accessing the newsgroups you most want, it to use Deja News, which is free and bypasses your ISPs limitations. They carry all the newsgroups; however, attachments, such as pictures, are stripped out of the messages. Nevertheless, this can be an extremely useful service.
The following is a simple unqualified list of newsgroups you may find useful. Number after the newsgroup's name indicate how many messages were available from our ISP just prior to uploading this page. These numbers, however, are only an indication of how active a particular newsgroup is at a particular time and should be treated with caution.
