Much has been written about the unique Victorian steam railways of the Isle of Man, principally The Isle of Man Railway, The Manx Northern Railway and The Foxdale Railway. The CRMR Library extends to in excess of twenty videos and two hundred books, periodicals and articles covering every conceivable public fact on the subject matter, some dating back to the 1870's. In addition, there is a collection of related memorabilia, including thousands of photographs and postcards, tickets, accounts, paintings, locomotive, carriage & wagon drawings, name plates and, of course, scale models in 5" gauge.

We hope to provide a little bit more detailed information and unusual photographs to the discerning Manx railway enthusiast, whilst at the same time interest those in the model engineering fraternity who like to see larger scale live steam operating in a scenic environment as opposed to weekend steaming on club and society 'running tracks'.
The CRMR would be pleased to hear from anyone with a particular interest in Manx steam railways, whether full size or in miniature, and indeed of any scale 5" gauge Isle of Man Railway locomotives, carriages or other items of rolling stock for sale in order for the CRMR to expand its available fleet.
Finally, If you do currently own a 5" gauge Manx 'Peacock', 'Sharpie', Dubs or a pair of suitable Irish Railcars, then do get in touch with us. We estimate there to be twelve Manx locomotives in the United Kingdom built to 5" gauge or 1 2/3" Scale. If there is sufficient interest out there, we would like to hold a "Manx in Miniature" weekend when the CRMR track is well on the way to completion and there should be several F-series coaches and Manx wagons for your engines to pull.
