A bird table is an inviting spot for any self respecting border terrier,
and with careful positioning under the table a feed is almost guaranteed.
Bonnie is a true gold medalist at this skill, and over the years
has perfected a stand off approach which allows her to see the birds
land and then dash in when bits of bread are thrown from the table.
During certain times of the year she will beg to be let out into
the garden in order to take up position in her favourite spot.
Early spring poses problems of its own. With the fall of blossom
from a nearby damson tree, the patio is sometimes covered by hundreds
of tiny white petals.....about the size of a small piece of bread.
Each of these petals has to be inspected, just in
case it may be an edible item, and this takes a long time. It is a tough
life being a border.
