E-mail observation submission details

NE NLCOG small logo

This page provides details on how to submit your observations by e-mail. Follow the instructions below to ensure consistency in e-mailed observations. Please do not send photos by e-mail. If you and other observers have photographs exposed at the same time then you will be contacted about this. Its is assumed you are using your regular observing site. If you are not then you need to state this in the e-mail and provide the latitude and longitude of your observing location.

Sorry about the complexity of the current method. A new method is in prepartation.

Set out the e-mail as follows:

Observer code:
Location:
Date (year/month/double date):

Time(UT):
Elevation(°):
Azimuth(°):
Structure:
Brightness:
Notes:
Exposure details:

For each 15 minute observation interval use a separate section, ignoring the "Observer code", "Location" and "Date" headings as these remain constant. Perform a copy and paste in the e-mail to do this. The example below should clarify the format.
