2000 - Travelled for three months from China through Mongolia, and Siberia. During this trip I shot some of the pictures that are included in this Portfolio. I visited Beijing, Herenhot on the Mongolian border, then proceeded to Ulanbataar and attended the Nadaan festivities. This is a sport event that dates back to the Khans involing traditional disciplines, like wrestling and arching. Some of the photographs included are also part of a horse trek around the region of Hovsgol, shooting photographs of landscapes and nomadic people. From there I then proceeded to the lake Baikal area, where I explored the northen shore of the lake, then continued on the BAM railway to Krasnoyarsk(4000km east of Moscow), then by car to the southern republic of Khakassia.

1999-2000 - I completed my A-levels at City & Islington college in London. I had verious jobs working for an interrior-decorating firm.

1998 - First trip to Moscow where I spent two weeks exploring the city, taking my first amateur pictures after completing a photography course at Cavendish College in London.

Summer 1998 - Whent to visit my father in India for three months, where I participated with the building of a 24ft boat. During this period I travelled the southern region of Tamil Nadu. Unfortunatly my work from this period was ruined. I began to have a profound interest in Russian literature, resulting in heated discussions with my father.

1997 - I completed my first year at the linguistic school in the coastal town of Marina di Carrara in Italy. In October the same year I moved to London.

1994-1996 - I was studying at the "Scuola Media" Statale di Carrara G.Carducci. During these years with my mother's encouragment I became increasingly interested in Photography and journalism. In my spear time I worked in an Anarchist typography packeting newspapers.

1993-1994 - I lived in the small province of Beauce in Quebec, on a horse ranch. For a year and a half I was absorbed by farm life and horses. Attended my sixth grade at a local school where I learned to speak French.

1990-92 - I lived and studied in Pondicherry South India with my father. We moved to India from Italy in 1990 where I began to attend an English school. During this period my father was absorbed with writing an autobiography, I began to be very interested in Botanics and Zoology. We had a mini lab with fishtanks and exotic species found in our back garden.

I was born in a small tuscun town, and had an upringing in an eccentric family. My parents by trade are painters, model boat builders, and tile makers. They moved to Italy with my brother and sister in 1979, by which time they already travelled half the globe. They had lived in the United States, New zealand, Scotland, Canada, France eventually to be catapulted to Italy. It was predestined that I should be a traveller. Photography has been the medium that has allowed me to observe, record these experiences which have been in essence my real education.
