This building is one of the largest barns in Wensleydale and is Grade II Listed. After years of neglect and decay, the roof had started to collapse, there was structural movement and falling masonry from some of the walls. A substantial grant from the Yorkshire Dales National Park and a strong statement from this practice that the barn was repairable, in contradiction to previous engineers' reports, enabled a full repair to be carried out.

    There are a number of steel ties within the building holding opposite walls together, but otherwise the masonry has been repaired using traditional fat lime mortar.
