The firm has been involved with a number of disused listed railway viaducts. Smardale Gill Viaduct, in Cumbria, Grade II Listed, was the first disused viaduct to be taken over by a private trust and repaired so as to be suitable for public access.
Other listed viaducts that have been the subject of reports and recommendations include Outwood Viaduct, Bury; Hewenden Viaduct, Yorkshire; the Alston Arches, Haltwhistle, Northumberland and Nine Arches, Tredegar, South Wales. A number of them are currently the subject of Lottery applications for full repairs.
