A large empty space on a busy stairway at a Birmingham College was just asking for a bit of Steve Harper magic!
The challenge was to add depth to the wall while giving inspiration through the use of colour and natural life objects. The result was incredible, a dramatic 'seascape' with a giant hump back whale within it, seeming as if it were jumping out of the scene. People can now stop and admire the grace of "the great whale" and perhaps for a moment stop and consider the plight of this gentle giant of the seas. When Steve was commissioned with adding space and a 'classy' feel to a main living room lounge, a fantastic landscape of Blenheim Palace took shape. Together with a 3D look to the shelving and archway painted on the end wall and trailing plants and marble effects to the lower walls and radiators. A flat wall was turned into a stunning view and the project took on its classical appearence. Click on the surrounding images to view the completed project.
