Ilsington Lawn B&B

 

Ilsington Lawn is a characterful detached 18th century country house privately tucked away on the edge of the pretty village of Puddletown - Hardy's Weatherbury - close to Dorchester.

You are free to come and go as you please during your stay as your two-roomed B&B suite is accessed by its own easy-rise external staircase and balcony with views to the fields.

The accommodation is situated in the former stables attached to the house and is suited to both short stays (two nights minimum in high season) and longer visits.

We provide a comfortable, attractive and spacious double bedroom with a generous seating area and Freesat TV.

And there is a second connecting room for private dining which is well equipped with fridge, microwave, dining sets etc.

A generous self-service continental breakfast including fresh fruits, cereals, yoghurts, croissants and toast with fruit juices, ground and instant coffees and tea is provided for you to enjoy at your leisure. Or you can bring your own favourite breakfast for a reduction.
 

There is ample secluded, private parking just outside.



This is an excellent location for easy access to all Dorset, and beyond. Poole/Bournemouth, Purbeck, the Jurassic Coast, Weymouth and Portland, and Bridport are all within easy reach.

The house is set in wonderful walking and riding country, within an easy mile of the celebrated Athelhampton House, and a short drive from Monkey World, the Jurassic Coast and numerous other famous Dorset attractions. Here you have both a convenient staging-post and a superb base in Dorset for longer stays.

A picket gate gives access to a footpath which crosses the little river Piddle and leads to the unspoilt heart of the old village, just moments away.

Puddletown village is an attractive, typical Dorset village with interesting old architecture and church, situated within easy striking distance of the whole county.

There is a well-stocked general store and post office; a most conveniently situated public house with garden serves excellent food.
