This is the view down the East-West Access (Strasse den 17 Juni) towards the Brandenburger Tor. It was completed in 1791. Unfortunately, it was undergoing restoration during my visit so it was covered in a plastic mac which completely hid the Tor. The covering had been covered with a graphic indicating what might happen to the Tor on a very windy day! The Quadriga on the top used to face towards the camera point and into the western sector. The DDR were fed up with looking up the horse's a--e so they turned it round!
