THE YEAR 1978

The Annual Dinner was held in the Exservicemens Club on the 6th December with 116 sitting down. The DRUNKS were afterwards removed by Edmunds Coaches.

On the 27th May the Annual Concert was held again at the Leisure Centre and the artists were Kenneth Collins and Hilary Thomas. Mr. John Samuel attended as the guest accompanist giving of has services free, and was presented with a clock in appreciation.

In the Programme:-Soldiers Chorus, Speed Your Journey, The Long Day Closes, Lacrymosa, Llanfair, The Toreadors' Song, Going Home, Fiddler On The Roof, Hava Nagela, Bugeillior Gwenyth Gwyn, Myfanwy and Deus Salutis.

Other concerts during the year:-Central Hall Bargoed,Melksham,Bristol and one with the Cory Band for the Ebbw Vale Comprehensive School,

Off to Workington on the 23 September where we were booked in to 25 beds at the Viaduct Hotel and 13 beds at The Green Dragon. John Holden, Penry Morgan, John Jones and Kenneth Morgan were kind enough to use their cars to ease the transport problem. They can thoroughly recommend the Bell Inn at Heversham.

All set to depart Workington! everyone on the coach ? no. Stan England still in bed.

Savings for a proposed trip to Canada were commenced.
