THE YEAR 1981

The Ladies "God Bless Them" raised £133.29 for the choir funds and to reward them left their coach stranded on the M 4 while the choir went on to Melksham.
They eventually arrived in time for the after concert refreshments.

On the tape:- Crossing the Plain, Calm is the Sea, Jacobs Ladder, Finlandia,Roll Jordan Roll, The Lords Prayer, Bandits Chorus, De Battle Ob Jerico, Love Could I Only Tell Thee, Stout Hearted Men, Soon Ah Will Be Done, and Morte Christe.
The Conductor was Alcwyn Savage, Piano May Parry and the Tenor Kenneth Collins.

The Caretaker had a rise from £4.00 to £6.00 per week and someone gave an anonymous donation of 50 p.We never did discover who the generous person was.
Pensioners were exempt from paying contributions at this time.

Tom Gregory, Lou Rees in the Second Tenors. Joe Greenland, Albert Hendy in the First Bass. Ike Harris, Eddie Davies, Tom Preece, Bill Brown and Bill Dance in the Second Bass.

The records show that Jim Cunningham of Edmunds Omnibus Services received £698.00 from the treasurer for two coaches to Builth Wells, two coaches to Cornwall,two coaches to Melksham and one coach to Tredegar.

The Annual Concert had Kenneth Collins as artist , and a profit of £942.00 was made. The Choir contributed £58.00 and a cheque for £1000.00 was presented to the laser fund at Neville Hall.
With little or no publicity to the choir!

A clock was presented to Mr John Dobbs for his work on the choir building.

This concert was for The Lions Club of Evesham Vale.
