At last a letter from The Foundation For the
Sports and the Arts offering the choir the sum of £30,000.
With this money the choir replaced the Roof,
nine windows, fitted a new kitchen and with the expertise of our Building
Control Officer First Tenor Mr. John Williams decorated the upper practice
room.
Total Spend on this project £30,724.7
Weight Watchers departed for the St.Johns Ambulance
Hall
on a rental we could not match.
Choir did concerts at Banbury,Morganstown,The
Proms (Leisure Centre),Cardiff,
Upton-on- Seven, Bideford, Abergavenny and Malvern.
At Morganstown the choir sang:-A Border Ballard, An Eriskay Love Lilt, Kedron, The Finish Forest, Stout Hearted Men, Where Shall I Be, My Lord What a Morning, Sara,Watching At Night, Wake Gentle Shepherd, Sing We Noel, APortrait Of My Love, Wandering Star, When The Saints and The Battle Hymn Of The Republic.
The Proms turned out to be one of Dennis O Loughlins
great achievements Rebecca Evans turned up to rehearsals and flatly refused
to perform.
Love's Labour Lost was a disaster.
Good old David Whitecombe did a few rehearsals on the piano so also did Rhian Hadley.
We purchased "When The Saints Go Marching In".
New Faces:-T Skinner P Smallcombe Second Tenors.
