THOSE MAINLY INVOLVED                         VIEWS DURING AND AFTER RENOVATIONS

The following members have made contributions to the project by way of self help to a greater or lesser extent and although a particular contribution is appended to a name they have all in addition been involved in other menial tasks most of these being dirty miserable hard work.

John Jones (Second Bass).............Plumbing
David Lloyd...................Aide to B.C.O. (Second Bass)
Viv Hobbs..............................Electrics Servery Lights (First Tenors)
James Morgan (Hon Sec.and Second Bass)............Input on all glazing work.
George Palmer...............General dogsbody (first Bass)
There have been others who have helped to a greater or lesser extent and to those we offer our thanks hoping they will not be affronted if they are not included.
This project would not have been possible without the finances of :-
Foundation For Sports and The Arts ...£30,000.00 and The Arts Council of Wales...£39,412.00.
and so at this point and on behalf of the Ebbw Vale Male Choir I would express the grateful thanks of every member of the choir both present and future

It has been a long but worthwhile exercise these last four years.
Some choristers have expressed impatience at the time taken to bring this to fruition, some of these have not come forward to give assistance when help was required and seem to have lost sight of the long term object of the work. In working with building contractors a certain amount of prevarication and procrastination can be expected and it was certainly the case here.

Finally it must be pointed out that our B.C.O. has been on the site over the period for up to 5 days a week and 8 hours a day and at times for longer than this. He has insisted on doing a great deal of the more intricate work himself and this is of course the nature of the beast.!

It is to be hoped that future generations of choristers will take example from the present choir and give thanks that Bethesda Church Canolfan Canu is now in a condition that it can be handed down in confidence to future generations.

Considerable work ,effort and money has gone into the project from all quarters and it is to be hoped that members will not have to be requested to take care of the building but feel proud that they are now the only choir in the valleys of SouthWales to possess such a beautiful rehearsal room.
