The Building 1994-1997
Firstly it must be said that both Mr. John Williams (first tenor) and myself Mr. Philip Jones (second bass) and Treasurer have been closely involved with the work done on the building over the last three years.
The two applications presented to the Foundation for the Sports and
the Arts £30,000 and that to the Arts Council of Wales £39,412
was compiled by myself in consultation with Mr. John Williams .
We did not always see eye to eye on everything that was being done
but I believe that posterity will be the best judge as to the final result
of our efforts.
John and I were the prime movers but others in the choir gave of their
time and energy in doing quite unrewarding tasks in order to save the choir
having to commit an input of cash to the project. This input was regarded
by the Arts Council as self help or labour in kind.
This amounted to some £7000 of self help.
Before listing those who should have our thanks it may be instructive
