The module covers the Supercollider programming language, basic musical composition methods, generative and algorithmic concepts and techniques, development of the graphical user interface and the development of individual projects.
The module is suitable for those with a familiarity in computer use, digital audio concepts and music making. It is designed to make Supercollider simple and less abstract and caters to a range of abilities from the mathematically-minded to absolute beginners without any programming background.

What is Supercollider? (Have a look at the SuperCollider Homepage)

Supercollider is a programming environment for real-time audio processing.
It is one of the finest and most versatile environments for music processing and especially
for creating music applications of all kinds, complete compositions, interactive performances, installations etc.

The user can design any personal system to create, record, play, edit, sample, transform sound accordingly to their nee It is used by cutting edge artists, researchers and free spirits. Supercollider runs on a Power Macintosh with no additional hardware.

Learning Supercollider

Supercollider, doesn't come with a manual. Unlike other software that are usually made to perform specific audio tasks, Supercollider is able to do nearly anything you can imagine...this is why it is difficult to write an official manual that would cover everything Supercollider does. In fact Supercollider is so powerful and flexible that it is difficult to predict what musicians, artists or programmers and yourself will do with it.
