Please allow me to introduce myself: my name’s Simon Plent. My speciality is Direct Marketing, writing copy in particular. I was Creative Director at Reader’s Digest for five years and before that I was Creative Director at two top London direct marketing agencies working with brands like The Royal Mail, Lloyds TSB, Orange, RAC, SAAB and British Airways. In all, I’ve been involved with the direct marketing and advertising business for over 20 years.
I now work with a variety of direct marketing clients, small and large, the most well-known being, perhaps, Which? Magazine, for whom we wrote/created/designed/artworked their latest ‘control’

Namely that the sole purpose of any form of advertising is to sell something...a product, an idea, a point of view.
