Family History

|Home| |Timetable|

Our new session started on 16th January with a very interesting talk by Peter Park about 'Getting More From Census Records'.
In February one of our members, Christine Cole, told us about her experiences of tracing one of her family, which all started from finding old photographs. She did a lot of detective work both here and in the Midlands. She is a great inspiration to us all.
April brought us a visit from David Lambert who spoke about 'Wills and Probate'. We all realized how much can be learned about Family History from wills, so we are all searching.
Our Workshops have been a big help to us all. We visited the IT unit at the refurbished Warrington Library and, with the help of some of our more computer-minded colleagues, were able to learn a lot.
Our visits have included the Parish Church at Prescot and Speke Hall. We all enjoyed our visits and especially the bluebells at Speke Hall which were out in profusion.
We are all looking forward to restarting Family History in September and hoping for lots more interesting talks and outings.
