Come Along and Find Out More - Free
Warrington U3A holds
general meetings
on the first Wednesday of each month from September to June except in
January when we have a social event instead. The meetings are held in a town centre location
starting at 2.00pm. Before and after the business of the meeting
there is usually
an opportunity to talk with group representatives, committee members and others.
Non-members are welcome to attend two of
these meetings (without charge) to help in making a decision about joining.
Besides access to the learning and activities, members receive the Warrington U3A Magazine,
published in Spring and Autumn. The membership card gives contact details for all groups and
for members of the executive committee.
You want to find a more convenient U3A?
Contact details (web, telephone or postal) for most U3A's in UK may be found on the website of
The Third Age Trust.

Yes, Yes -- but how much would I pay at Warrington U3A?
The academic year at Warrington U3A runs from September 1st of one year
to August 31st of the next.
The annual subscription for an academic year is currently
£20 (twenty pounds sterling) with a prompt payment
discount of £2 (two pounds sterling) for CONTINUING members.
Prompt payment is required by the October general meeting.
You may join Warrington U3A at any time and there are
reduced subscriptions for NEW members joining after January 1st.
If unsure about what rate applies, new members should speak to the Registrar whose contact details are on the
application form. An application form can be downloaded below.
The annual subscription gives access to
all activities, however many the member chooses.
Subscriptions are spent almost entirely on renting
town-centre accommodation for our meetings and courses.
Other U3As use members' homes more than
we do at Warrington and so can have a lower annual subscriptions. Because many of our members use
public transport, Warrington U3A has chosen to rent accommodation for most of those activities requiring it.
Membership of Warrington U3A is required to attend our
course sessions. However, potential members during their "visiting period" -
i.e., for no more than two months - may attend meetings of a group
with the consent of the group leader.
After this "visiting period", anyone attending any of our activities
must be able to show a valid membership card.
The Membership Application Form
You can attend a
general meeting and ask the registrar for a membership
application form. Alternatively, you may prefer to download the
form through the following link:
membership application form -- 2008-2009
The above download link leads to a web page which displays the form with instructions for printing.
The form gives the postal address to send it to. Include a
stamped, addressed envelope with your cheque and application if you want your membership cards sent to you.
There is probably no better way to investigate further than to attend a
General Meeting and have a chat.
