ATTRACTORS AND DECEIVERS

Artificial flies fall into one of two groups.

• Attractor flies are usually gaudy and brightly colored. They are designed to stimulate a predatory fish's aggression. They do not try to imitate the fish's food. They just provoke a predatory attack response.
• Deceivers are designed to fool the fish into mistaking it for it's natural food such as nymphs, eggs, lava, pupa, duns, spent flies, crustaceans, tadpoles, leeches, ants, crane flies, grasshoppers, frogs, mice and smaller fish. They are usually subtle in color and try to mimic the natural's colors
