A good fly box should have the following flies on one side of the fly box

Black Woolly Bugger hook size 10

A selection of Pheasant Tail Flies (hook size 12 & 10) in the following colors: natural, red, green, and yellow. Also include a Gold Bead Head Pheasant Tail

A selection of Montana Flies (hook size 12 & 10) in the following colors: Green & Black, Yellow & Black, Also include a Gold Bead Head Montana

A selection of Gold Bead Head Flies (hook size 12 & 10) in the following classic patterns: Corixa, Walkers Mayfly, G R Hares Ear, Cats Whisker Tadpole, Whisky, Missionary, Black Chenille, Viva and Viva Tadpole

A selection of Gold Bead Head Nobbler Flies (hook size 12 & 10) in the following colors: white, black, orange and olive.

Another good selection with these would be some Fritz flies cats whiskers and gold headed fritz.

The other side of the fly box is always useful for a selection of dry flies these should consist of the following types, all of these flies should be on a size 10 Daddy long legs G/H daddy long legs yellow body , green body, olive body, and orange body, the bodies for these can be detached or fixed both work really well.

When it is the right season a selection of mayflys is essential: damsel, french partridge. Brown, black, and olive gnats go down a treat, the hook size to go for is size 12.
For more traditional pattens Alder caneis tupps pheasant tail blun & olive duns black gnats coachmans cow dung conamaro black and wulff flies black royal, red, white and grizzly. These flies should be in the following sizes 16s 14s 12s.
