Summary

The George Claridge Druce Memorial Day was held in Oxford on Saturday 18th May 1996 to celebrate the life of a distinguished field botanist and Fellow of the Royal Society, and to mark the official unveiling of a new headstone in Holywell Cemetery. The original monument was lost in the 1970s leaving the former Oxford Mayor's grave unmarked.
