Freefall are…

Saeed Shah – Keyboards and songwriter
He’s obsessed with music and he loves this band. Saeed formed Freefall with bass player Jon, who shares his passion for song writing and aversion to day jobs. Raised on a diet of Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock and Steely Dan, Saeed has drawn on these influences to create a funky and unique modern sound, writing memorable and beautiful songs for Freefall.

Jon Mellor – Bass
A founding member of Freefall, Jon has experienced the rare pleasure of making it big in Japan, where he scored a number one with previous band, Ouch! Influenced by bass supremos, Bernard Edwards (Chic/Sister Sledge) and Norman Watt-Roy (The Block Heads), Jon is one of the funkiest bass players around - the fans who threw their knickers at him in Tokyo seemed to think so too.

Ayesha – Vocals
Newly discovered gem, Ayesha brings that special something to the band that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. At 19 years old the quality of her voice far exceeds her age. With strong influences in jazz and neo-soul, she's got a style that keeps audiences coming back for more.

Nick Mitchell – Guitar
Nick picked up his first guitar at 12 and started learning riffs to try and emulate his idols – Carlos Santana and Jimmy Hendrix. His guitar playing has been essential in shaping the distinctive Freefall sound, as well as their live performances, by providing what Nick describes as "strong funk grooves with a hint of rock".

Merijn Royaards – Drums
He's Holland's second favourite export - adding the finishing touch to get that distinctive Freefall sound, Merijn is a gem of a drummer. A rare breed who can both swing and groove at the same time. Merijn relocated to London to further his career as an artist. That is now firmly on hold as the other band members have him chained to his drum kit.
