Rueda Quarteto INCANDESCE
Choreography:
Fritha Fallon and the dancers

‘Incandesce’ is a female trio. It is an abstract piece which brings the exuberant music alive. It is danced ‘on 2’ and is a fusion of Salsa and Contemporary dance. It reflects the choreographers time spent working with Jason and Amanda of Manhattan Mambo, who specialise in New York style Salsa. This dance goes beyond the boundaries set by other all female Salsa shows. For the first time we see the inclusion of partner work which challenges the dancers to shift between leading and following. As the title suggests this dance really glows with heat!

Rumba Especiales
ESPECIALES RUMBA Choreography: Fritha Fallon and the dancers

This piece was inspired by the wonderful Cuban music. It’s rhythmic complexity and it’s heartfelt emotion. The movement is an interlinking of different styles and influences. If you are a Salsa connoisseur you will be able to distinguish influences from Cuban Rumba, Casino and steps derived from Santeria dancing, such as those of the Orisha Chango. The intention of the choreography is not to recreate traditional forms, but rather to create a new and imaginative dance which gives reference to the Cuban roots of Salsa. From whichever angle you view this piece you will be continuously surprised by fleeting moments of magic that you will want to re-live. There is so much in this dance, you will want to watch it again!

6 mins

THE EXPERIENCE Choreography: Fritha Fallon and Jim Costello

This duet has two sections. The first is Cha Cha Cha and the second is Salsa danced ‘on 2’. The choreography explores a Jimi Hendrix theme. Jim is 'Jimi' and Fritha is his white guitar! It is a great example of how Salsa can be danced to different kinds of music. This cabaret goes down a storm at events with a 1960s theme.
