We have
sound and lighting equipment and a wealth of teaching expertise, so we
can offer events which include any of the following:
A fun salsa and merengue lesson aimed at
getting everyone up on their feet and having a good time.
Salsa lessons at beginner, intermediate and
advanced levels (warm-ups can include ‘shines’ and advanced lesson can
include ‘ladies styling’ - choose from Cuban style, Cross Body Lead or
Rueda).
Freestyle demonstrations.
Choreographed cabaret performances.
Either a ‘salsa club’ disco for serious
salseros, or a ‘latin party’ disco to get everyone up for a boogie
(even if their latin spirit has been lying dormant for a while!).
A ‘salsa fiesta’ workshop aimed at
integrating people with and without special needs.

SALSA
SUNSPLASH EVENTS
for schools, clubs, day-centres etc.
Usually a daytime event, which can be held indoors or outdoors. They
are an ideal way of integrating people who would not normally associate
with one another. A vibrant street carnival atmosphere is created
through a celebration of music and dance. People can just turn up on
the day and join in, or they can prepare a dance performance in advance
during a series of workshops with a member of the company, and then
perform it on the day for others to enjoy.
For example, a school, a youth club, a day-centre for people with
special needs and a day-centre for elderly people in the same locality
could each book a series of six workshops. This would then culminate in
a Sunsplash daytime event at the local Arts Centre attended by all the
workshop participants plus their family and friends. There would be
‘fiesta workshops’ for everyone to join in as well as performances by
each group. Plenty of uplifting Latin music will make everyone believe
they are in a sunny happy place, no matter what time of year it
actually is.
