Installation
Wconnect doesn't need any special installation or setup.
The following system requirements:
486+
WIN32
connectd 2.4+
s e r v e r
Wconnect needs to know the ip-address of your connectd server. However it makes an educated guess which works for most people. (When a DHCP-server is setup then that's used; otherwise the IP-gateway is presumed.) If connectd isn't on this machine then its address must be entered into wconnect's properties or directly into the config file (wconnect.cf).
Whenever windows exits with wconnect running, wconnect will be running next-time windows starts. (Like other properties, this setting is remembered "per user".) So it doesn't need any shortcut in the startup folder.
I run wconnect from a share on the server. Installing wconnect on a new machine is a matter of opening the network neighbourhood and running wconnect. (The system config file is hacked to disable exit.) Upgrading is then a matter of unpacking the new copy of wconnect into the share.
