A Vale based organisation that provides second hand household items, ranging from furniture to electrical goods for people in need, has been granted charity status.
Roundabout, which is on the Bond Industrial Estate, Wickhamford, liases with more than 30 referral agencies, including social services, to identify and supply people who can make good use of the items.
The organisation has 20 volunteers and can repair and refurbish goods given to it.
Vale MP Peter Luff visited Roundabout's base to see at first hand how the charity operates. Roundabout manager Bob Pooler said Mr Luff had made "very favourable comments" about its work.
"He gave us some advice about ways in which we could overcome some of the problems we encounter and we will be trying some of those in due course."
