Robbie Powell scored twice to move close to breaking the record for most goals scored in a season for the club. 20/01/08 Another close game but another defeat, losing to Acle 3-2, an deflected Frank Wright shot and then a clean Wright shot. 13/01/08 Were well beaten by a very good North Walsham Town side. 6-1 Daren Francis with a well taken strike from an acute angle. 06/01/08 Robbie Powell took his total goals for the season to 11 and total goal yards to 16 with another tap-in and Gareth Payne struck a beautiful 20-yard volley. We lost though. 16/12/07 Danny Whitworth's first Newsman goal and a spectacular overhead kick from Gareth Payne wasn't enough as Union took all three points late on. 09/12/07 NCFC travelled to Griffin Park to face Aslacton and Great Moulton and lost 6-1, General Franco Wright equalising. 02/12/07 A spirited display saw Newsman leave Earlham with a point, Robbie Powell scoring first and the hosts scoring a deserved equaliser late on. 18/11/07 A goal one minute from time robbed Newsman of a point against second placed Gilson Bailey. Keiron Pim equalised with his second in two games and a first of the season from Sean White put NCFC 2-1 up early in the first half. 11/11/07 Joe Ferrari's howitzer from 40-yards added to Robbie Powell's early goal in the 3-1 win over North Walsham Old Boys. Sub Keiron Pim sealed the win on his 100th appearance. 14/10/07 Travelled to Acle and fell two down, pulled it level at the half but conceded twice in the second. 07/10/07 NCFC beat Ashill Hearts 4-1 in the 2nd Round of the Norfolk Sunday Intermediate Cup. 23/09/07 A first half of two injuries and four goals conceded against Hellesdon but goals from Robbie and Ben gave Newsman hope until two late goals gave the hosts a comfortable victory. 16/09/07 First three points in 2A, beating Norman Wanderers Reserves 2-1. David Powles first goal for the club from a Jim Rice corner and subs combining with Keiron Pim setting up Robbie Powell. 09/09/07 Defensive mistakes were punished in the 4-1 defeat to Gilson Bailey, Robbie Powell off the mark for the season though and another ankle injury, this time to Cameron Black. 02/09/07 NCFC made their 2A debut against Norwich Union, losing 2-0 in a close encounter at Pinebanks, both goals coming inside the last twenty minutes. 23/08/07 NCFC lost 2-1 to Business Houses Division 1 side Home Care United at Rackheath, Jim Rice with Newsman's goal. 19/08/07 NCFC beat Dancing Farmers 3-2 at Rackheath with goals from Cameron Black, Matt Ware and Frank Wright. David Powles made a dream debut scoring a bullet header at the wrong end and returnee Euan Williamson pulled up with a hamstring injury. 17/08/07 NCFC have a bye through to the Second Round of the Norfolk Sunday Intermediate Cup. 30/06/2007 The fixtures for the new season have been announced and updated. 04/03/07 The trip to Acle Wanderers was postponed due to standing water on the Beighton pitch. 18/02/07 Twice coming from behind earnt Newsman Celtic a draw at Mousehold with goals coming from Frank Wright and Matt Ware. 11/02/07 Newsman's home match with Temple Bar was postponed, instead we played a friendly and lost 5-0. 04/02/07 Newsman Celtic again went down 2-1, this time to the top side Hellesdon Athletic, Daren Francis the scorer. 28/01/07 A first of the season for Graham Dunbar wasn't enough against North Walsham Town, going down 2-1. 21/01/07 Back to back wins, clean sheets, own goals and Robbie Powell goals against a good Deopham Reserves side. 14/01/07 NCFC returned to winning ways at Upton with goals from Frank Wright, Robbie Powell, Daren Francis, an own goal and a first goal in seven years for Joe Ferrari. 07/01/07 A tight and evenly fought contest was won by the only goal of the game by One Account. 17/12/06 Three successive wins to end 2006, beating Earlham Colney Reserves 3-1 with goals from Matt Ware, Robbie Powell and Cameron Black from the spot. 10/12/06 A thoroughly undeserved victory against Maid Marrion who missed a hatful of chances but Robbie Powell equalised and Gareth Payne scored late on. 03/12/06 A Frank Wright hat-trick gave Newsman all 3 points away to Rackheath Green Man. 26/11/06 Mistakes cost us dear as we fell 4-0 to Acle Wanderers. 12/11/06 Played 10 - Drawn 7. 2-2 against Mousehold, goals from Daren Francis and Colin Bright. 05/11/06 Made hard work of beating 9-men Rackheath Green Man (formerly Sole & Heel). 5-1 the eventual scoreline with Matt Ware scoring Newsman's 500th ever goal. 29/10/06 Played 8 - Drawn 6. A 2-0 victory at home Upton combined with a defeat for Nelson ensures NCFC maintain 3A status. A shadow of last week going down 2-1, Sam Greenfield on the scoresheet for the Hoops. 22/02/06 NCFC Player/Manager has been ruled out for the season with cracked and bruised ribs sustained against Freemasons Arms. 19/02/06 Best performance of the season, saw NCFC drew their 4th game in 6. 4-4 against league leaders Freemasons Arms, with Daren Francis grabbing all four. 12/02/06 Late goal costs points again. First goals of the season from Matt Ware (2) and Cameron Black earnt NCFC a point against Sole and Heel. 06/02/06 Home to Owens postponed and rearranged for 26th February 2006. 29/01/06 Poor listless performance saw NCFC succumb to their first defeat of 2006. 22/01/06 About 30 minutes in, after a routine tackle, an Upton player suffered a broken leg. Both teams agreed to reassess the situation but it was decided that it was best to abandon the game. Undone by three set-pieces and a final breakaway goal to lose 4-0 to Sole & Heel who finished the game with 10 men. 20/11/05 Second Half failure again the Downfall. 7-3 defeat (word used too often) by youthful Acle Wanderers, Captain for the day J.Rice on the scoresheet twice on his 50th cap and a S.Greenfield penalty after being felled. 13/11/05 New Month, New Problem, Offsides or the lack there of, decisions in our favour. 5-0 defeat to Freemasons Arms. 30/10/05 NCFC returned to playing great football and being the better side and losing, 5-3 to league leaders Aslacton and Great Moulton. 16/10/05 Five defeats on the bounce for NCFC. Same story of nice passing football but this time a 3-0 loss to North Walsham Old Boys. 09/10/05 Another season, another Cup Run over before it began. Another decent Newsman display with nothing to show for it except a great strike from G.Dunbar and Z.Ireson with his fifth of the season. Freemasons Arms 6-2 NCFC. 02/10/05 NCFC lost their third consecutive game going down 6-4 away to Upton. Another decent display but too many errors cost dear, goals from Z.Ireson, S.White with G.Payne and S.Goulden claiming their first for the club. 25/09/05 NCFC pint-sized midfielder S.Greenfield scored a superb 25 yard half-volley, sandwiched between two poor goals and a penalty save from M.Colley, to lose 2-1 to Jeld-Wen. 18/09/05 NCFC succumbed to their first league defeat of the season at the hands of Deopham Reserves, arguably playing their best football thus far, despite fielding an understrength side. 1-4 with debutant Sean White finishing off one of many lovely moves. 11/09/05 NCFC recorded their second win of the season and against Nelson with a clean sheet to boot. 4-0 D.Francis, G.Dunbar, Z.Ireson and an awesome striker from newly crowned player/manager B.Potter. 04/09/05 NCFC started the new season in earnest, with an impressive 4-2 home win against Nelson.
