I have been cross stitching now for about 14 years, and over that time have stitched many samplers. These have ranged in size from a couple of afghan blankets down to greetings cards with a number of pictures in between.
Below is a small selection of my finished work. If you click on any picture, you should get a larger size version.

I usually find backstitch a bit boring, but it certainly makes a difference to the finished work. One series of kits where I don't mind the backstitching is the Kats By Kelly series, good job really, as once the cat is done, most of the kit is backstitch.

The sampler that has given me the most satisfaction is the one of the bird on the watering can. Although you can't tell from the pictures, it's a lot larger than the other samplers on this page. It took me some time to pluck up the courage to start this, as I had only done a very small kit before (not counting odd embroidery table mats done at primary school), and this was a huge undertaking on very fine evenweave using 1 strand of thread. I kept finding other projects to do, so at least I was still stitching. I was really pleased to finish it and get it professionally framed. Thank you Gary for having faith in my abilities. (either that or you're a sadist!)
