1. Low-band TX antenna

Three-band TX antenna (1.8 MHz, 3.5 MHz and 7 MHz): installed Summer 2004. The three wires are supported by nylon ropes and are spaced by 1 foot from each other with PVC plastic spacers (not shown here). The assembly was hauled up via a pulley to a support near the top of the 20m tall cypress tree. The three resonant quarter-wave wires are joined together at the feed point (in a garden shed) and a length of buried RG13 feeder connects the antenna to the rig in the house. The ground system has 40 radials of varying lengths and some 30 square metres of chicken wire embedded in the lawn. To accomodate the length of the 1.8 MHz antenna in a small garden, the wire is bent around in a horizontal "U" shape (not shown here).
