"Good news, Sir - at last the man's arrived with the coal!"

This drawing, pencil on a dark cream paper, captures the artists eccentricity which helped to cheer the Nation during the dark days of World War II. The image measures approximately 9 x 8 ins and is notated in the artists own hand, front and back. It is signed in the lower right corner with his alternative monogram "Silenus" occasionally used during the earlier years of the War.
