Metal Hammer Hellas

Welcome

Hi, and welcome to the Hellenic (Greek) Metal Hammer’s web page. This page is created by Georgios Sidiropoulos, the London correspondent to the Hellenic Metal Hammer magazine. The purpose of this page is to give the chance to all non Hellenic bands, magazines & fanzines , record companies, etc., to get in direct contact with the mighty Hammer, and have their work featured through the pages of the magazine.

Metal Hammer Hellas

Metal Hammer & Heavy Metal, as its full title is, is a monthly publication of 100 pages in full color. The very first issue came out in December 1984. It’s the oldest and biggest magazine of its kind in Hellas (Greece), selling 20,000 copies per month. There is an extra CD, attached to its front cover with every copy, each month.

We are trying to give coverage to all music genres: A.O.R, Hard Rock, Progressive (symphonic) rock / Metal, N.W.O.B.H.M, (Traditional) Heavy Metal, Speed, Trash, Power / Epic, Death, Black, Hard Core, and a little bit of grunge, sludge and psychedelic stuff as well.

We are remaining faithful to the "metal" values, and treat all bands, no matter if they are new or old with great respect, and appreciation. We are trying to be constructive with our reviews, and give our honest opinions, avoiding at the same time to be sarcastic or unreasonably offensive, in case that we don’t like somebody’s music.

Reviews

Hellenic Metal Hammer is progressively giving more and more space to bands, record companies, magazines, etc., that haven’t appeared at all, or have very briefly appeared through the pages of the magazine in the past. We have very big faith on the power of the " underground " , and we believe, that it certainly is the future of our beloved music. I’m personally dealing , along with the editor, quite a lot with the underground scene. We are reviewing lots of underground stuff, every month. You can check my work right now, if you want.

We welcome recordings from demo bands as well. You don’t have to record an expensive c.d., in order to get a review. Sending a good quality recording is a bonus, but it’s always the quality of the music itself, that counts the most. So keep sending those tapes for review, even if the budget for you recording was not very healthy, or if you are not 100% happy with the results that you have achieved. We also believe that good bands exist in every part of the world, and in every country, so we appreciate and encourage bands from every corner of the earth, to send their material to us, for review.
Several recording companies have told me to inform them, when I get quality music from unsigned bands, or from bands that are willing to license an own (self-financed) release to them. There can be help as well for those of you who are experiencing distribution problems with your material.

So, what are you waiting for? Send your material for review , as soon as possible, in order to avoid congestion, (since lots of bands are already sending their material to me everyday), in the following address:
