Dundee and Falkirk start this game with both teams looking eager to progress, Dundee have an early chance but Sara is of target with his effort. Both teams are playing attractive football but Dundee just seem to have the edge in quality. Falkirk are now on top but most of their good play is being done in their own half and they just seem to be missing that little spark in front of the Dundee goal. Back come Dundee and it is Artero and Carranza who are causing the problems as Dundee try to break the deadlock. No goals but plenty of entertainment as half time approach's.

Half  Time

The second half starts as the first with neither team managing to dominate the other

but Dundee have the better chances through Sara but he fails to convert this time.

After 66 minutes Kevin Christie should have been sent off for a crude tackle on Chris Coyne but the referee failed to act and the moment passed.

On 71 minutes Dundee took the lead through Juan Sara, it was a scrappy goal and Sara did not know too much about it. The ball was played into the box and Sara was in the right place to prod the ball home with his knee.

The game went flat after this as Dundee killed off the game and it came as no surprise when Dundee increased their lead with four minutes to go. Artero who had  a good game took on The Falkirk Full-back and left him for dead and when he got to the by-line he crossed into the box for Cannigia to simply tap the ball into the net.

Caniggia was replaced just after this by Steven Milne and on Ninety minutes Falconer replaced Sara and Russo replaced Carranza  just before full time.

           Artero, Nemsadse,  Carranza, Sara, Canaggia.

A poor refereeing decision cost Dundee all three points in this game and manager Ivano Bonetti could not hide his anger and frustration at the sending off of Juan Sara which ultimateley cost Dundee this game.

Dundee will again wonder how after dominating this game they came away with no points. They started the brightest and nearly took the lead when Gavin Rae blasted over after six minutes and then again when Artero provided a good cross for Juan Sara but his effprt was just wide.

After fifteen minutes Gavin Rae had a good effort on goal as he tried to chip Roy from distance but the ball drifted over the crossbar.

The opening goal came after fifteen minutes and it was a cracker, Carranza broke down the wing and crossed into the box for Sara to control the ball and crash the ball into the corner of the net. A great goal but when Sara celebrated with his now customary lift of his shirt he was booked by the referee, this would become more of a problem as the game went on.

Sara was causing all sorts of problems and he went close again but a goal line clearance from Saint's Turner  saved the day after 25 minutes.

The game turned on it's head after 35 minutes and again it was the referee who caused the controversy. Mr Sommers adjudged that Juan Sara who had earlier been booked had handled the ball deliberately and he gave him his second yellow card and off he went.

This changed the face of the game and St Mirren lifted their game. Nicholson came close just after this and from the resulting corner Saints equalised through Rudden.

   Half Time

The second half started with St Mirren pushing forward trying to make the extra man count but they created few chances. However Dundee came close to regaining the lead when Nemsadze found Caniggia who picked out Artero with a great back-heel only for Artero to fire over. Nemsadze had a go moments later but Baltacha managed to block his effort.

Saint Mirren had a chance after 72 minutes when Rickie Gillies burst through but he managed to put the ball past the post with only Ricotti to beat.

The winner came for Saints with six minutes to go, Kerr shot at the Dundee goal and Ricotti palmed it onto the bar but It was a Saints player who responded quickest and Dagnogo prodded the ball home.
