Misery continues for patched up Bangor
Man City 5 Bangor 0, Wed 14th April 2004

Bangor were hit by several late withdrawals but still managed to turn out a side for this midweek game. However, the inexperienced team looked to be in for a tough time with City scoring two goals after only four minutes from Garside and Moore. Bangor managed to steady the ship but Garside grabbed two more before the break to seal the win for City. Despite losing Roberts to a serious knee injury Bangor battled hard in the second half and only a late goal from Garside undid the good work.

Opening day defeat for Bangor
Bangor City 3 Man City 4, Sunday 17th August 2003

A much changed Bangor side took the field for the first league game of the season but despite an early goal they failed to match up to the opposition. Bangor scored in the fifth minute when Olrik's persistent paid off and she managed to fire a low shot past the keeper. Man City responded with four goals 25 minutes as Greogory, Garside (2) and Moore took advantage of poor defending. Bangor managed to maintain some hope when Roberts was needlessly fouled in the box and Ceryl Jones converted the penalty to leave the visitors 4-2 up at the break.

Man City continued to have the better chances but a combination of good goalkeeping and poor finishing kept Bangor in the game. With eight minutes left a great run and shot by Elen King set up Kirsty Roberts to score her first senior goal. Bangor won two late corners but couldn't snatch an equaliser and a draw would have been harsh on the visitors who had created most of the chances.

Bangor 4-4-2 Gill Smith, Alwen Williams, Sam Bell (Elain Owen), Tania Jones, Ceryl Jones, Katie Williams, Danni Keegan (Iona Williams), Kim Broadbent, Kirsty Roberts, Ailsa Orlik, Spohie Craig (Elen King).
