Dean dooms Bangor...

Oldham Curzon 4 Bangor 0, Wednesday 24th March 2004

Oldham virtually condemned Bangor to relegation with four second-half goals in the space of 16 minutes, including a hat-trick for Kelly Dean. It was the usual story for Bangor who put in an excellent team performance to keep the scores level at the break and Hewitt in goal was in good form. However, once Oldham got their first goal in the second half City collapsed to a disappointing defeat.

Dean scored on the 58th minute and she doubled the lead three minutes later after Gaynon had rolled the ball into her path. Maylett put the result beyond doubt when she benefited from more good work by Gaynon on 71 minutes. The prolific Dean then completed her hat-trick with Bangor having offered little threat as their fragile confidence collapsed.

Bangor 3-5-2 Natalie Hewitt (Sara Lacey), Katie Williams, Kim Broadbent, Gill Smith, Alwen Williams, Tania Jones, Sophie Craig, Siwan Elenid (Kirsty Roberts), Elen King, Danni Keegan (Elain Owen) Susie Cunningham.

Losing run continues despite Princely start...

Bangor City 1 Oldham Curzon 4, Sunday 26th October 2003

The day didn't start well for Bangor with the news that keeper Ellen Page was going to be missing for a month with injury and that Susie Cunningham had not made the trip over from Ireland in time. Defender Katie Williams took the goal keeping gloves and new signing Mel Prince made her debut up front. Bangor started the game well and were rewarded on 10 minutes when Mel Prince scored on her debut with a well struck shot. Oldham hit back five minutes later when Katie Williams was caught off her line allowing Bird to equalise.

The second half was an evenly matched affair with Bangor looking confident of claiming their first points of the season. The game turned after an unfortuante mistake from Tania Jones who attempted a back pass to the keeper only for Kelly Dean to intercept and score on 65 minutes. The goal seemed to rock Bangor who then allowed the dangerous Dean two more chances with which she made no mistake. King and Craig tried to put Bangor back in the game but were denied by the Oldham keeper.

Bangor 4-4-2 Katie Williams, Kim Broadbent, Gill Smith, Sam Bell, Alwen Williams, Tania Jones, Sophie Craig, Siwan Elenid, Elen King, Ailsa Orlik, Mel Prince (Natalie Hewitt GK).
