Home defeats continue...

Bangor City 0 Stockport County 3 , Sunday 24th April 2004

Stockport dominated the game but failed to find the net in the first half thanks to resolute defending. However, they got their reward in the second half to leave Bangor without a home league point this season. Hewitt pulled off a string of good saves to deny Stockport but Bangor posed no attacking threat so it was little surprise when the goals finally came. Malpas scored twice and Goodwin direct from a corner.

Williams red card leaves Bangor reeling

Stockport County 4 Bangor City 0 , Sunday 24th August 2003

The first quarter of an hour was a tight affair with both teams making good chances. Ceryl Jones should have opened the scoring when clean through but planted her shot straight at the keeper. On 15 minutes the pattern of the game was altered by the referee who awarded a penalty against Bangor for handball and sent off Alwen Williams. It was a decision that surprised everyone but Goodwin took full advantage to fire home the penalty. Five minutes later Malpas scored Stockport's second as Bangor's defence had failed to reorganise to the loss of Williams and paid the penalty for poor marking.

Bangor regrouped better in the second half but never looked threateningly. With 13 minutes left Malpas scored her second after poor defending from a freekick and two minutes from time claimed her hat-trick.
