Cup thrashing...

Cardiff City 4 Bangor City 0, Sunday 18th April 2004, at Caersws

Bangor were comprehensively outplayed in this Welsh Cup semi-final clash in mid-Wales. Cardiff took the initiative from the start and dominated the game, particularly through the middle. However, they could not make possession count as they came up against a stubborn Bangor defence they managed to keep the sides level at half-time.

The South Wales team continued to dominate after the break and on 55 minutes they were finally rewarded when Fishlock picked up on a mix up between defender and keeper to score from a back pass. Ten minutes later they doubled their lead after confusion from a corner and there was no coming back for Bangor. With five minutes left Cardiff scored two more to claim their place in the final against Newtown.

Bangor 4-4-2/3-5-2 Sara Lacey, Gill Smith (capt), Cerys Gadd (Susie Cunningham), Alwen Williams, Kim Broadbent, Tania Jones, Siwan Elenid, Elen King, Mel Prince, Sophie Craig (Danni Keegan), Ailsa Orlik (Elain Owen)
