Damp rooms, blocked fire
exits, rationing. The rooms we were given were either damp or had no
air conditioning, or both.As
"All Inclusive" the service was so bad that effective rationing was achieved.
The Fire
Exits to one main wing were blocked off completely as building work had
not been completed.
The Hotel was substantially overbooked, so
no action was taken by Hotel.
Andreas Apartments-
The apartment was filthy,
it had not been cleaned properly. The maid service was terrible and
it was full of cockroaches. There
were no facilities for anyone on a night flight and there was no reception
area as such.
Paphinia Sea View Apartments,
Paphos / Pafos.
Apartment was situated
above shops and on the busy main street. Sewerage plant at rear
of apartment.
Towels and sheets were unclean and
were not reissued until the third day of our holiday,
there were no top sheets when we
arrived.
The swimming pool was 2
blocks away and did not have any facilities for drinks.
Cockroaches in 2 rooms and we were covered in insect bites which are still apparent
even after treatment and spraying of repellant in rooms.
We complained about being woken up in the
early hours by other guests over several days.
The reps told us they would
seek alternative accommodation for us. It became apparent that
they were doing nothing about our complaint. They failed to contact us on days
when they promised to be in
touch.
Roussos Beach
Hotel, Limassol.
My wife and I and our
two children went for a two week holiday on a half-board basis.
When we were shown our
apartments they were in the old building and not as described in the
brochure. The apartment had a horrible smell, it was filthy dirty,
your feet stuck to the carpets,
and the furniture was old and very dirty. The bathroom was
disgusting, and the floor did not have an unbroken tile. The
kitchen was 1960's style and
filthy, the refrigerator had a dirty towel inside with some sort of
growth on it.
Wiring was loose and
hanging out of electrical switches and daylight could be seen around the
air conditioning that did not work. The representative was called and
eventually her supervisor. They
basically lied to us throughout and did not want to help us.
We refused the
apartment and another which was just as bad, but there were other
apartments empty but for whatever reason they refused to give us one
of them. Although we had booked for
half board, the dining room was closed and empty and we were told we
would have to eat outside?
Eventually after many hours of arguing the Reps found us another
apartment at the 'sister' hotel a few miles away.
The holiday was a
total disaster from start to end....
