This should have been the sporting occasion to be at. Dieter Hamman soon abruptly stopped that illusion and England fans' dreams lay in the ruins of Wembley while Kevin Keegan decided to resign. No win, no stadium, no manager. We came out thinking we had attended a wake. The only consolation was being able to go to the return fixture. |
