Jodie and I spent the morning in Dachau travelling by train and bus. Now that journey must have been easy if I managed to do it. We managed to find our way back to Munich to find it packed with Saturday shoppers so we disappeared into the nearest steak restaurant. Some things never change.
A German lady on the table next to us said she would like to see David Beckham score and wished us a good game. I wonder if she reflected on that remark after the game. Did she really mean it?
We must have been dropped off at the stadium about two hours before kickoff. What a long wait that was before the start of the game. You can see what a long day it had been for Jodie. I think we had to be at the airport for 0330. This must have been about twelve hours later.
