Austin Ten Drivers Club National Rally 2009

Sue and Steve organised a four day trip to attend the Austin Ten Drivers Club National Rally at Whitchurch in Shropshire held over the weekend of July 25/26th. This was the first major excursion for Chris and Jill in their 10/4 Colwyn and despite initial trepidation both car and driver performed very well. Little did we know that the real test would be on the way back after Sheila finally found a nice 10/4 to purchase. Gordon drew the short straw to drive it the 179 miles back with a jet missing from the carb and somewhat perished tyres. Few thought it would survive the journey but it came back in great style albeit a bit of a handful in traffic due to lack of tickover.

Sue and Steve had to put Sidney in the previous winners class due to winning their class in 2008. Highlight of the weekend was when it was announced Sid had won again and was crowned champion of champions!!

Congratulations to Sue and Steve, a great reward for all the hard work in keeping Sidney up to scratch and thanks for a brilliant weekend.
