Highclere Castle picnic 16th August 2009

For our August mid-monthly Sunday meeting Chris and Jill arranged for us to picnic at Highclere Castle. The event attracted 10 Austins of various sizes and included 4 new cars or cars with new owners. Bryan was out for the first time in his new 1934 10/4 saloon and Sheila in her similar 1933 model. Sue and Steve left poor Sidney at home and opted to go topless in their new Heavy 12/4 two seater and dickey. Another car out on it's first Centre run was Patrick's Chummy and hopefully they both enjoyed their day, though the Chummy was feeling rather poorly as it left for home. Having consumed our picnics some opted for a tour of the Castle and Egyption exhibition whilst others just strolled around the gardens. We then eventually migrated to the tea rooms before departing after another very relaxing outing.
