Westerham East Grinstead The Secretary reenacts the Napier Commission at Torran Schoolhouse Ready Steady ... We meet 0900 most Sundays at the Queen Victoria traffic lights, North Cheam (A24/A2043, TQ233651) but there are exceptions. For longer rides the start time may be 0830, and most rides to the west of London start from Kingston Bridge (A308, TQ177694). Other rides are train assisted but usually there is an alternative starting from North Cheam. For details of our current rides, click Rides List above; for recent rides read our blog.

Distances are in the region of 60 miles but may be longer in summer or shorter in winter. The pace is 10-14 mph but nobody gets drop. There are three stops (elevenses, lunch, tea) so a ride to elevenses and back gives a full morning's ride. No charge is made per ride but regulars are expected to be members of the Cyclists' Touring Club.

For those in search of the unusual, there are nocturnal FNRttC rides from March to November. These leave Hyde Park Corner around Friday midnight and the destination is somewhere on the coast. The 2009 dates are: 13/3, Thursday 9/4, 8/5, 5/6, 3/7, 7/8, 4/9, 2/10, 30/10, and 27/11. 2009 sees the start of SMRttC (Saturday morning rides to the coast). Links to individual rides can be found on our blog.

The date of the next Hilly 50 should have been 14/02/2009 but it has been postponed due to the adverse weather; the route is available here and, for the technically minded, in GPX format (either turns only or 100 points).

The group organises weekend tours to youth hostels/guest houses at least once a year. Some members tour at home and abroad or race; quite a lot don't. Club nights are shared with the Kingston Phoenix Racing Club and are held on Thursday evenings at the Worcester Park Athletics Club in Green Lane, Worcester Park.

For more information, please email the Secretary or telephone him on 0208 549 0366. But he's also a volunteer hostel warden so replies may not be immediate.
